Welcome to KSDO! Knowledge Spear Development Organization, established in South Sudan in December 2023, is a non-profit certified by RRC. Our mission focuses on children's access to quality education, emphasizing key pillars like learning, teaching, and inclusivity.

Purpose: We are dedicated to providing access to learning, quality teaching, inclusive education, child labor-free zones, vocational skills development, gender equality, and empowering youth through education.

John Tier Bak

Executive Director


Mr. John Tier is the Founder and Executive Director (ED) of Knowledge Spear Development Organization (KSDO).

Mr. John Tier is the Founder and Executive Director (ED) of Knowledge Spear Development Organization (KSDO). Before founding KSDO, he has been working for South Sudan Pensions Fund, Juba.
John Tier joined the humanitarian organizations amidst his secondary school years, when he was recruited by the Carter Center- Sudan Guinea Worm Eradication Program as Field Officer in 2010.
During his undergraduate studies in India, he participated in the Community Outreach Programs, serving and empowering elderly, impoverished women and youths for one year. After graduation he returned to South Sudan and took the job at the Action for Development (AFOD), as Nutrition Assistant in 2018. A year later, he joined the Ujamaa Africa, an international organization dealing with Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Sexual Assault Preventions as a Program Instructor.
John Tier later switched to private sector where he worked for solar energy company, SunGate as its Financial Controller in 2019 before taking up his current Public Services career for Assistant Manager at the South Sudan Pensions Fund in 2021.
Born in the rural South Sudan during the years of the country’s struggle for independence in 1989, Tier pled to Kenya in pursued of education in 2004, where he did his primary and secondary school education. As a young refugee boy at Kakuma Camp, Kenya, he was inspired by the United Nations (UN) organization itself and believed such big organization was once an individual idea before collective fruition.
Tier thinks that a personal success emanates from enlightening and uplifting others through knowledge than a physical object like spear in fighting the human problems, by shaping such ideas as collective efforts with others to transform the society. His dream and ambition let to the formation of education based organization, the KSDO in 2023.
John Tier has BA and MA degrees in Economics from Loyola College, Chennai and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Bhubaneswar, India.

Deng Akech Deng

Program Co-ordinator


Deng Akech Deng is a coo-founder and a Program Coordinator of Knowledge Spear Development Organization (KSDO).

Mr. Deng is a lawyer, a Theologian, civil servant and public health worker.
He worked for African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries, Lietnhom, Warrap State. Before joining the Carter Center- South Sudan Guinea Worm Eradication Program as Area Supervisor, he worked for the local government as secretary in the office of the Payam Administrator, Pathuon East Payam of Gogrial East County, Warrap.
Akech has a Bachelor of Law from the University of Juba, Diploma in Public health and the Diploma in Theology.

Simon Majook Mou

Administration & HR


Mr. Simon is the Executive Board member of Knowledge Spear Development Organization (KSDO) undertaking Admin & HRM.

Majook is an Agricultural Scientist and a teacher.
He’s been teaching at various schools across South Sudan since 2019. Mr. Simon graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Alexandra University, Egypt.

Monicah Adut Lueth

Field Officer


Ms. Monica Adut is a Geologist, Entrepreneur and an Executive Board member and a Field Officer at the Knowledge Spear Development Organization (KSDO).

She is a former model and a business executive who works for Dove Link Multipurpose Limited as Marketing Executive. During her modeling practice at the university years, she won the first Miss University of Juba in 2019.
Ms. Adut has a Bachelor of Science Honor degree in Geology and Mining from the University of Juba

Mary Arun Mawat

Finance Officer


Mary is the Executive Board member and a Treasurer of the Knowledge Spear Development Organization (KSDO).

Ms. Arun has Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources from the University of Juba.
